Saturday, July 16, 6PM |Member Event: Tour with Artist Josephine Halvorson 2016 Outlooks artist Josephine Halvorson will discuss her artistic practice and lead a tour of her site-specific project with Curator Nora Lawrence. Sunday, July 17, 9AM | Member Event: Member Morning Visit and explore the grounds and galleries during non-public hours at July’s Member Morning. At 9:15 join artist, Jean-Marc Superville for an open-air sketch class. From 10-11am Members receive a free coffee at the café.
Sunday July 17, 1PM | Children and Families: Young Explorers Try out Storm King Art Center’s new Field Guide for Young Explorers with its creator, environmental artist, scientist, and activist Hara Woltz. Participants can share their creations by taking a photo and uploading it with the hashtag #ISpyStormKing.
Saturday, July 23, 2PM | Wanderings and Wonderings: Denniston Mikalson Join artist duo Denniston Mikalson for a musical tour of Storm King Art Center. Performed by the Lesbian and Gay Big Apple Corps, with arrangements by Chris Parrello. Presented with The Shandaken Project.
Sunday, July 24, 1PM | Children and Families: Cylindrical Giants Explore Alexander Liberman’s large-scale sculptures and the possibilities of shape and volume in this interactive tour and workshop.
Sunday, July 31, 1PM | Children and Families Fountains of Youth Explore how engineering and art-making come together in this hands-on workshop.
