Illuminate The Dark Winter Months With These 9 Light Fixtures

Today, December 21st, marks the Winter Solstice and the shortest period of daylight of the year. As we prepare ourselves and our spaces for the new year, our editors have rounded up nine light fixtures to keep your space bright during the dark winter months ahead. These sleek and elegant lights are non-intrusive, but each holds a prominent architectural presence.

Take a look here:

WIT 5 LINEAR SUSPENSION | Designed by Sean Lavin
Wit by Sean Lavin is a modern design with cylindrical glass elongated by sleek metal bands. When lit, the integrated LED fixture has a striking linear illumination and presents as modern décor when turned off.

Composed of nested wood cylinders, this 9-bulb fixture makes a striking luminous statement, referencing essential abstract forms of the De Stijl movement, as well as the figurative language from which it takes its name. Available with a cloth-covered cord or fixed metal rod in three standard overall heights.

BIRDS NEST PENDANT | Currey & Company
The Birds Nest Multi-Drop Pendant is an effervescent beaded pendant that looks like a luminous nest. Rather than twigs, the shade is made up of whorls of clear beads strung along pieces of wire.

Moni is an innovative yet astute collection, its monochromatic palette softened by a gentle, fluid form that is perfectly complemented in proportion and balance. The white dipped coloured shades add further dynamic, pairing the weightlessness of artisanal mouthblown glass with an opaque quality.

TRIDENT LIGHTING | EVB Lighting in collaboration with Avant Garden
The Trident Lighting is based on Avant Garden’s popular Meander series. The three-armed torchiere in brushed brass with sculptural American-made steel
gooseneck and hand-wrapped leather, is named after Poseidon the God of the Sea in ancient Greece’s weapon symbolizing abundance.

UTOPIA LARGE LINEAR PENDANT | Designed by Kelly Wearstler
While the framework and shade are made from a durable metallic material, the LEDs are aided by a Glass shade, allowing it to take on a more comfortable and encompassing bask of light. Fixture is suited for use in commercial spaces like lobbies, conference rooms, and formal dining areas.

Shaped by hand from a blend of organic materials, SONIAH has a live tactile surface; composed of ZTISTA material, a blend of upcycled steel, flax rubber, wood chips, cellulose, and clay all with biopolymer cover.

MIAMI BEACH PENDANT | Sasha Bikoff for Currey & Company
Sasha Bikoff says her Miami Beach Pendant was inspired by a 1980s Miami Vice vibe: “I keyed in on the colors, the nature, and the Deco revival architecture that is unique to the South Florida locale.” The curvy pink pendant is made of wrought iron with a blush pink shade and glossy white accent that defines its Art Deco style.

The Dobson liner suspension piece features an angular, metal shade that houses a powerful LED lamping source. This simple and sleek suspension piece is available in Brown Chestnut, Satin Nickel, Weather Gray Oak, White and White Ash.
