212 Fifth Avenue Unveils Custom Westwood Gallery NYC Art Collection

Contemporary New York City art gallery, WESTWOOD GALLERY NYC, has unveiled a custom collection of artwork, curated by James Cavello, currently on display at The Crown, the architecturally distinctive triplex penthouse at Madison Equities’ 212 Fifth Avenue

“The Crown is truly a one-of-a-kind space in Manhattan, so it was only fitting to complement it with this spectacular art exhibit,” said Robert Gladstone, CEO of Madison Equities. “This particular residence breaks the mold on luxury, and Westwood Gallery has successfully matched the level of sophistication and worldliness we envision for its resident.”

The luxury art installation features a variety of artwork from ground-breaking New York City visual artists and photographers. The artwork includes an extensive range of one-of-a-kind pieces, including iconic Andy Warhol screenprints, a unique Robert Rauschenberg, a watercolor painting by Sam Francis, seminal work by Cy Twombly, Robert Indiana, Robert Ryman, sculptural paintings by Charles Hinman and vintage photographs from award-winning 1960’s photographers who captured extraordinary photos of James Dean, Coco Chanel, Keith Haring and Mick Jagger.

“The art collection was uniquely selected to create a dialogue within the extraordinary luxury space of The Crown, as well as to enhance the architectural details of the space,” said Cavello. “Each and every work of art was carefully chosen to reflect the same complexity and elegance that you can find within the property’s interior design and features, as well as to guide you from room to room.”

In the heart of the bustling Madison Square Park neighborhood, The Crown features over 10,000 square-feet of interior space and 5,700 square-feet of outdoor space. The space boasts panoramic views of iconic landmarks across Manhattan, including the Hudson River and the historic Flatiron Building. The upper level terrace is ideal for entertaining and can accommodate a pool as well as significant art installations and lush outdoor greenery. The penthouse is currently on the market for $73.8 million

Developed by Madison Equities, 212 Fifth Avenue is a newly converted luxury residential tower, with 47 beautiful two, three and four-bedroom condominium residences. Originally constructed by prolific 20th century architects Schwartz & Gross as an industrial structure, the building has transformed into a majestic beacon within the Madison Square Park neighborhood.  Masterful architectural firm, Helpern Architects, helped to redesign the fully stored façade as well as many of the striking exterior features throughout the tower. The lavish interior elements of the building were designed by interior decorator, Pembrooke & Ives. Sotheby’s International Realty is leading sales for the building.

The artwork on display in the penthouse is available for acquisition through WESTWOOD GALLERY NYC.
