At ASPIRE DESIGN AND HOME, our editors are moved by a myriad of influences, be it design, architecture, or art.
From our Summer issue, here are some of the pieces that sparked inspiration this season:
Angela Dufresne | “Kerry Downey,” 2016, oil on canvas.
Reliquaries by Paola Bay & Armando Bruno | Reliquaries is an installation for Broken Nature – at the XXII Triennale in Milano. What now we take for granted – a flower, a fish, a drop of clean water – one day, possibly, it will not exist anymore. The Reliquaries are a reminder that what we have now is so invaluable, that one day a daisy will be more treasured than a diamond.
The Verge Mosaic Collection From ARTAIC | The Verge collection features modern interpretations of traditional geometric patterns found in woven, beaded and block-printed textiles.
Joan Barber | “Summer Fade,” Oil on Linen,46 x42, 1990’s.
Lisa Ashinoff | “Avenir” 40 H x 33 W, Oil in Birch, 2019. “When I began this body of work I did not set out with a clear understanding of why architecture, geometry, and color were combining to provide this outlet in which to express myself. Quite simply, it flowed out of me.” Read more about this piece from Ashinoff, here.
