Avocado’s Newest Mattress Offers Give Your Sweet, Sustainable Dreams An Elevated Edge

Regardless of your sleeping positions, preferences and schedule, a high-quality mattress is at the heart of every round of rejuvenating rest. Since its founding in 2015, Avocado has been the preeminent choice for mattresses that are comfortable and eco-friendly. (Because who needs their carbon footprint to be yet another thing that might keep you up at night?) Now, the direct-to-consumer darling is welcoming a new chapter with its upscale Grand Luxe mattress.

For Brian Baxter, Avocado’s chief revenue officer, “Consumers have been waiting for a truly luxurious mattress made with higher standards,” he explains. “The Grand Luxe fills that void — combining uncompromising natural materials with peerless design and our industry-leading certifications.”

Similar to the brand’s other models, the Grand Luxe is sustainably made and meets MADE SAFE standards; however, Baxter stresses this new arrival “takes those commitments to a new level” and is “unlike anything” the Avocado has created before. The magic lies in the construction: Avocado’s Grand Luxe incorporates 17 layers of natural and certified materials into a singular sleep experience.

Instead of using polyurethane foam — a common mattress material that is not environmentally sound — Avocado uses a mélange of naturally fire-retardant British wool, organic cotton, silk, mohair, Peruvian alpaca and buoyant Pure Talalay latex. Meanwhile, up to 14,400 precision-tuned AeraSprings gently cradle your body, providing incomparable support as you get some shuteye. Each mattress is hand-finished with top and side tufting, for an elevated touch.

“By layering the world’s finest natural materials with advanced support systems and timeless design, we’ve created a mattress that feels indulgent yet remains responsibly made,” Baxter adds.

Admittedly, choosing a mattress is an incredibly personal experience; however, Avocado’s Grand Luxe mattress offers an array of options for a more bespoke slumber. Once customers select their size — the Grand Luxe is available in queen, king, California king and split king — they can select one of three different models. The Classic Tufted Top boasts a lower profile that offers a sweet spot between soft and supportive, while the True Heritage Pillowtop has an attached pillow-top layer for a pinch of plushness. With a variety of firmness levels to choose from — ranging from firm to ultra-plush — it’s possible to create your very own dreamy oasis.

The Grand Luxe might be the newest SKU on its website, but Baxter says it’s more than a mere mattress: It’s a movement. “It represents the pinnacle of our craft,” he says, “while also representing the ultimate expression of what a sustainable luxury sleep experience can be.”

The Avocado Grand Luxe mattress is currently available on AvocadoGreenMattress.com. Prices range from $8,499 to $31,249.
