A few subtle moves were instrumental in creating a large, fresh, serene space for everyday living. Most importantly, removing a wall at the rear of the parlor floor allowed us to convert a dark galley kitchen and narrow dining area into one open space. Combining the spaces brightened the entire rear of the parlor floor and showcased the three large existing windows, providing ample opportunity for natural light throughout the kitchen.
Warm tones carry a sense of brightness and a welcoming atmosphere, while the functional layout ensures maximum utility. The large island allows for cooking, prepping, eating, and entertaining. The banquette at the garden-view windows acts as a centerpiece for comfortable dining in what was once a divided rear bay. Soft, monochromatic tones bring a refreshing energy to the kitchen while respecting the historic townhome’s architectural details. Custom cabinetry provided by Taffera Fine Building & Finishes and Ace Fabrications and decorative accents fabricated and designed in collaboration with local artisans ensure thoughtful quality and functionality.
