Designer Courtney McLeod Shares Her 2019 Trend Report

Courtney McLeod is a high-end interior designer based in New York City. A colorist at heart with a joyfully vivid, collected aesthetic, her design process is a perfect balance between the creative and the analytical. Originally from New Orleans, this Wharton grad established Right Meets Left Interior Design in 2012 after 15 years in financial services. Courtney graced the cover of the Spring 2016 issue of ASPIRE DESIGN AND HOME, is a brand ambassador for S.Harris, and was recently included on the 2019 list of emerging designers by Luxe Interiors + Design.

This past year, Courtney joined the ranks as a 2019 High Point Market Style Spotter. After scouring the largest furnishing and home design market in the world, here are seven new products that stood out to Courtney, and are sure to define design in the coming months.

Sugar Leaf Chandelier | John-Richard
This piece features magnificent glass sugar leaves among an organic branched three-tiered twenty-four flex light chandelier in a brushed brass finish.

Corbett Desk | Worlds Away
Oval desk in burl wood with a brass base.

Oona Orb Chandelier | Currey and Company
The Oona Orb Chandelier is a whimsical creation made of wrought iron in a mix of French black and contemporary gold leaf finishes. The black and gold chandelier is one of two fixtures in this family of designs, the Oona Wall Sconce just as playful.

Wailea Swivel Chair | Bernhardt
This chic swivel chair features a unique textile filled with reticulated foam that has been hand woven over a metal frame in an interlocking barrel pattern to create a look that is stylish and sophisticated, yet also created with an emphasis on comfort. It can be used in a full outdoor space, such as a patio, terrace or deck and offers a look that feels polished and new.

Melrose by Corbett Lighting | Hudson Valley Lighting Group
Inspired by the French industrialist movement of the 1940s, these blown glass and vintage brass fixtures conjure a vibe of old Parisian cafés, yet their scale is a bold modern statement, giving them a timeless and multi-functional appeal. The hand-applied finish has a rich, aged patina that sets these pieces apart. The smaller, one-light pendant version with matching canopy and cloth-covered cord features thick, polished acrylic for the diffuser, adding yet another layer of glamour.

Elektra Sofa | Rawan Isaac
Combining glamour and sophistication, the Elektra sofa features interior vertical channel tufting on the seat and back, and a stainless steel base in brushed brass finish. Upholstery is customizable.

Nest 2-seater sofa | Cane-line
Nest 2-seater sofa INDOOR is designed in Denmark but created in Indonesia by experienced rattan weavers with a long tradition of this craftsmanship. In classic Danish design and made from sustainable natural rattan.
