Andrew Joseph: Describe your design style as if you were explaining it to someone who cannot see.
Brittany Farinas: My design style is Curated Chic Luxury Living. This aesthetic includes interesting furniture and lighting pieces, oftentimes sculptural, but always giving a high-end feel. Along with luxurious textures, and a careful selection of bold colors and patterns, this design style is ultra-chic, and can stand the test of time. Imagine flipping through a magazine and stopping at a photo of a lavender channeled headboard with soft linens, bronze accents, and a fluffy boucle accent chair in the corner with a vintage side table. That’s Curated Chic Luxury Living.

AJ: If you weren’t a designer, you’d be a ….?
BF: Fashion Designer for sure! Fun fact: before pursuing a career in interior design, I thought I wanted to become a fashion designer. After doing my research and realizing I had to sew my own clothing, I ditched that idea and never looked back. I think it was my love for different textiles, and collaging different looks together, which is what I do now as an interior designer, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

AJ: What would you like to be remembered for?
BF: I’d like to be remembered for being an influence in my community in both interior design and the entrepreneurial space. I’m very passionate about being a leader to my team and being able to work on different business ventures within the design world, just as much as I love practicing interior design.

AJ: What are your ideal weekend plans?
BF: My ideal weekend plans are going for a good workout (FORM50 always), and being outdoors. Whether that’s going to brunch, or laying out at the beach, I love to do things to help me unwind and recharge for the week ahead.

AJ: Do you get your eight hours a night? – What is your schedule like?
BF: I will usually get six to seven hours of sleep. I wake up every morning by 5 or 6am, have my cup of coffee and then go for a morning workout. I’ll get to the office around 7:30am and meet with the team every morning at 8am. We always start off the week with a one to two-hour Monday Morning Meeting to get aligned, as well as discuss goals for the month and year. Depending on what I have scheduled for the week, I will either be in the office working with the girls or out at meetings. A typical work day ends around 7pm.

AJ: How would you describe your personal style?
BF: I feel the most confident in business attire with a chic street style flair. Just like in design, I love wearing luxurious textures, and accessories to pull the outfit together. I always rock my statement designer pieces to elevate my looks. I love the quote by Rachel Zoe: “Style is a way of saying who you are without having to speak.”

AJ: Secret talent?
BF: My secret talent is that I can sing (or at least I think I can)–I’m always singing

AJ: How would you define your work in three words?
BF: Curated, Chic, Sophisticated.

AJ: Best advice you’d give your teenage self?
BF: Don’t change anything about what you’re doing right now. Stay free-spirited and curious always.

AJ: Where is the first place you want to travel now that everything is opening up?
BF: The first place I will be traveling to is Italy as I will be attending Salone di Mobile this year for the first time, which will also be my first time traveling to Europe. I am very excited for this trip.

AJ: Has your mindset changed into 2022? In what ways?
BF: I’m definitely going into 2022 with a fresh and clear mindset. 2021 was filled with a lot of anticipation for what was coming next and steering the company in the right direction during such an uncertain time. In 2021, I feel like everyone was moving at 100 miles per hour. However, for me, 2022 is about focusing on working together with my team of four on amazing projects with great clients in Miami and other great cities.
