A designer of many years, Haleh Aleman has switched gears slightly in the launch of her sustainability-focused design firm, Home Wellness Interior Design. At HWID, Aleman grounds design in the health and harmony of her clients and their environment before building upwards. Incorporating techniques like Feng Shui, and sustainable furniture and accessories, Aleman creates externally pleasing environments to promote the internal comfort of her clients. Introducing this week’s Designer Friday, Haleh Aleman.
At HWID, Aleman’s years of design experience guide a process, from product selection to spatial utilization, founded on holistic principles and sustainability.
Andrew Joseph: What’s inspiring you in life (in your industry) right now?
Haleh Aleman: I am most excited about the launch of Home Wellness Interior Design, an affordable online resource for holistic interior design services and for sourcing sustainable furnishings. As designers, we are constantly re-inventing and I’ve decided to be true to myself. My goal with HWID is to offer everyone access to beautifully designed, unique spaces to live and work with health and wellness in mind.
Andrew: If you weren’t a designer, you’d be a ….?
Haleh: If I wasn’t a designer, I would coach the younger generation, nurturing and igniting their sense of capability, teaching them how to create a remarkable future through their mindset, and motivating them to take action to reprogram their Paradigm to live their best life.
Aleman creates a soothing space in this bedroom with gently contrasting neutral tones and minimalistic accessories.
Andrew: What would you like to be remembered for?
Haleh: Generosity of spirit, joy and gratitude for life, and being a positive force in the lives of all those I know.
Andrew: Describe your design style as if you were explaining it to someone who cannot see.
Haleh: I design spaces that foster health, happiness, and a feeling of sanctuary. I merge the beautiful with the mindful, creating healthy spaces where you can feel a sense of balance and health.
In every environment, Aleman uses space, tone, and texture to create a harmonious atmosphere for inhabitants.
Andrew: What’s a new hobby/skill that you have learned recently?
Haleh: Ballroom dancing. I just love it! When I dance, I am present and in the Now. I feel the happiness the movement of dancing brings, not only in my body, but in my soul.
Andrew: What’s your go-to snack between zooms?
Haleh: Jasmine Pearl Green tea and Hu dark chocolate, or, mixed nuts with a crunchy Granny Smith apple.
