eggersmann Shines A Light On LED Illumination Offerings

Looking for a bright idea? eggersmann USA is ready to deliver. The iconic German brand has strived for kitchen perfection since its founding in 1908—and thanks to its LED Illumination feature, eggersmann proves that no detail is too small to contribute to design excellence. When eggersmann released its basic round puck lights in 2010, the mission was simple: Provide a safe and effective way to give clients’ storage spaces a practical glow.

“Firstly, heat transfer to furniture is an issue,” explains Evan Soltoff, eggersmann’s vice president of operations. “We want something with low heat and low energy consumption. Safety and power use is always a concern, so we wanted something that allows our users to get a lot of light but with minimal energy usage.”

Unlike other offerings in the design industry, eggermann’s LED Illumination has strict requirements for color rendering index and tight binning, the process of grouping LEDs together to maintain a tighter control of possible output variations. “LED binning can have serious implications on performance, cost, and lead time for manufacturers, but it is an invaluable process to specifiers and end-use customers,” Soltoff adds. “It’s what we require for color consistency.” The result? A cohesive, uniform glow that looks just as good as it operates.

Since introducing LED Illumination, eggersmann has made the feature a customized experience, understanding each of their clients’ needs and how light will enhance their projects.

“In our client’s kitchen, they want interior drawer task lighting for late night snacks, or toe kick light so they can make their way to their coffee machine as the sun comes up,” Soltoff shares. “A client wants to display a treasure in their entertainment unit with a spotlight or possibly a linear light to distribute a soft glow. In their wardrobe, our client wants to angle the direction of their light to see the true hue of their clothing and accessories.”

Fortunately, there’s more than one way to bring eggersmann’s LED Illumination to your home. Recently in a luxury cabinetry project in Houston, Texas (pictured above), interior lights above the wet bar added a glow to the otherwise storage-filled butler’s pantry. Meanwhile, a Sugar Land-based home’s cabinetry project (pictured below) is decked out with toe-kick lighting in the kitchen as well as LED lighting in the shelves of the one the client’s closets.

Whether you want a subtle glow or lit-from-within shine, eggersmann is proof that stylish lighting knows no bounds.
