Built almost two centuries ago, it is witness to the New Jersey Flood of 1903, and has worn many hats, including a private residence, a general store, a bakery, a pool hall, a real estate offfice and apartments. Today, it wears the hat of Bridgeton House, an inn that offers 11 room options to guests, including guest rooms, suites and houses. No two rooms are alike, providing a unique experience for every guest. While one room is painted a bright yellow with flower print linens, another is a mix of white wood paneled walls and red brick walls with checkered linens. Though each room may vary in decor, the constant theme exudes country comfort, with warm colors and rustic furnishings. HISTORY | In 1986, Earl Jamison, the founder of Peddler’s Village, bought and renovated the Buttonwood Inn, renaming it the Golden Plough Inn. It opened in 1987 with 10 rooms.

ACCOMMODATIONS | Nestled within the 42-acre Peddler’s Village, the Golden Plough Inn has been said to bring in about 2.5 million guests a year, in large part to the Village’s 11 annual festivals and seasonal events. Of the Golden Plough Inn’s 71 guest rooms and suites, 22 can be found in the three-story Main Inn, while the other 49 are scattered throughout the Village. All the guest rooms have recently undergone a complete renovation, overseen by AJ Margulis, an award-winning designer from Pennington, NJ. Inspired by the Bucks County countryside, Margulis designed each room to feel like a country home with modern design trends and up-to-date amenities. Now all rooms include traditional mahogany furnishings, custom wall coverings and light fixtures, original pieces of artwork, and comfortable seating.
