Andrew Joseph: Describe your design style as if you were explaining it to someone who cannot see.
Kate Worum and Jennifer Jorgenson: We are maximalists with serene souls. We love color and patterns layered on top of other patterns but we make sure the eye still has a place to rest.

Andrew: If you could live in any home in a movie or television series, what would it be?
Kate and Jennifer: Jenny would live in the house from “How to Steal a Million” as long as the car came with the house and the house was full of patterned walls and fabric.

Kate would live in the houseboat in “Sleepless in Seattle” (but somewhere sunnier).

Andrew: What’s a guilty pleasure you have?
Kate and Jennifer: Kate likes PASTA, excessive cuddling and fine dining (in that order) and Jenny eats gummy bears out of a crystal bowl in bed every night.

Andrew: What’s your favorite cocktail?
Kate and Jennifer: Jenny loves an Aviation, Kate loves a Spritz.

Andrew: What would you like to be remembered for?
Kate and Jennifer: She She wants to be remembered for changing the worlds of our clients for the better through our art. We very strongly believe that environments change the way you feel and perceive the world. We hope our core collection, as well as custom designs, create happiness each time they are passed in a space.

With light, citrus-y tones against a dark background, She She’s Bon Bini wallpaper creates a quirky environment that balances pattern with color.

Andrew: What would your dream project or dream client be right now?
Kate and Jennifer: We are so excited to do more work abroad in 2022. A dream project for us would be to create the aesthetic as well as all of the wallpaper and fabric for a boutique hotel in Europe. All over She She patterns in the lobby, bar, bathrooms and guest suites is our next goal.

Andrew: Are you a pet person? Why either way? Dogs or cats?
Kate and Jennifer: We are both dog people through and through.

Andrew: Style (or design) icon?
Kate and Jennifer: We have quite a bit of respect for Diana Vreeland. She wasn’t afraid of a pattern or an opinion and we try to live our life with those ideals as well.

Andrew: Secret talent?
Kate and Jennifer: Kate can float in the water like she is laying on an inflatable lounger and Jenny plays her flute to pop songs on YouTube in bed.

Andrew: What might the design world look like in 10 years?
Kate and Jennifer: We hope that the design world is less trend-focused and has leaned into a well-curated personal aesthetic. Save for the forever pieces and style them together – layer the floral painting from your first apartment next to the plaid pillow your mother-in-law just gave you and let your honest, personal style tie them together.

With a client-focused approach, She She creates custom-designed patterns and prints, like the rich, vintage-inspired Willa & May, a tribute to a client’s recently passed dog.

Andrew: Must-have clothing item everyone should have in their closet?
Kate and Jennifer: Jenny lives in sweatpants with elastic on the bottom – she wears them all day as long as she doesn’t have to leave the house and often leaves the house in them as well.

With thanks to Kate’s new feathered 70s hair-do, you can find her in Levi mommy jeans and romantic blouses this season.

Andrew: Has there been a shift in what clients are requesting post-covid?
Kate and Jennifer: Clients have been taking a much more intimate approach to their designs. In the past, it wasn’t uncommon for a client to come to us wanting a cool focal point in their house for entertaining guests, but we have seen a change where clients now have a specific emotion they want a space to create for their families and themselves. People care less about being “cool” and now want their spaces to make their lives better in a specific way.

About The Makers | We were set up to be friends by two people who thought we were the local match to each other’s style, creativity and drive. We quickly developed creative crushes on each other and started finding places for each other in our work. With Kate specializing in Illustration and Jenny in Architecture + Interior Design, we merged both our passions to create She She. A multidisciplinary Print + Pattern Studio specializing in Wallpaper, Fabric and Home Furnishings.
