Artist Mary Lai Embraces Happenstance In “Synchronicity”

The stars have aligned for LA-based contemporary artist, Mary Lai, with her latest exhibition, Synchronicity, at the Art Room in downtown Los Angeles. Her colorful, playful and joyful collection of works on view now through March 3, are an homage and visual manifestation of auspicious happenstance.

The concept of Synchronicity is a phenomenon when two seemingly unrelated events are intertwined and regarded as “meaningful coincidences.” For artists, these events can prove to be a validation on their journey and reaffirm taken directions. For Lai, this exhibition is her visual manifestation of meaningful coincidences and says, “meaningful coincidences seem to happen when preparation and hard work meets opportunity, validating our artistic journey”.

“Art is a universal language that can speak to anyone,” Lai asserts. “My dreamer mindset is reflected in the vibrant mixed media artwork that aims to uplift and evoke emotion.”

Showcasing over 25 of Lai’s whimsical works, Synchronicity invites audiences to tap into their own intuition, follow their guts and open themselves up to the possibilities of a little bit of luck.
