SURFACEDESIGN: MATERIAL LANDSCAPES By James A. Lord, Roderick Wyllie, Geoff di Girolamo. Introduction by Anita Berrizbeitia | The Monacelli Press
SurfaceDesign: Material Landscapes, the first monograph from San Francisco-based landscape architecture and urban design firm Surfacedesign, explores the design philosophy of the three firm partners: James A. Lord, Roderick Wyllie and Geoff di Girolamo. They are committed to solutions that emerge from the site itself, challenging conventional approaches to landscape.

The work is informed by the vast openness and frontier spirit of the West, expressed in rugged materials and sustainable planting. This book cultivates a sense of connection to the built and natural world, pushing readers to engage with the landscape in new ways.

SurfaceDesign: Material Landscapes, is set to be published October 22.
